Well I had a class today and it was interesting because of the people in there. It is a policy class and the personalities and opinions are really strong and quite polarized. Also peoples mannerisms are so interesting as well. Luckily there is a guy in my class who is a member as well and we hold generally the same ideas and opinions so that we can support each other. The class definitely accomplishes most of it learning through reasoned (well most of the time) debate. So knowing that there is someone else there that at least holds the same opinion is comforting.
Tonight an interesting person said that he thought all of peoples elementary education would be better if it was focused on group work. I disagreed especially in my own case because I have rarely ever been in a group that I was equally matched with that allowed stimulated learning to occur. He disagreed back saying there was lots of research and the professor who had actually taught 2 years as a 7th grade teacher said he would prefer to see that in writing to really begin to accept that.
I am sure that by the end of the semester I will love and hate each of my classes in turn...
